The 2013 Domaine Vincent Grall Sancerre is a small-production Sauv Blanc, with an aroma that takes you immediately to the vineyards of France. Focused on the nose, with grapefruit, passionfruit and fresh-cut green herbs, this dry white has a citrusy lift to the palate, well balanced fruit with a firm texture and a hint of flinty minerality.
Produced by artisan winemakers Vincent and Adelaide Grall, who sustainably farm a tiny three hectare plot in the commune of Sancerre. The soils here are mainly composed of the rare argilo-silex, clays that are rich in flint fragments
A little history about Sancerre...
Sancerre is the ancestral home of the Sauvignon Blanc grape, and is famous for its minerally, crisp and, fresh white wines that pair so well with seafood, composed salads and Chevre. The region is located in the Central Vineyards section of the Loire Valley, close to the center of France. Hillside vineyards planted on chalk, marl and flint soils are the source of these wonderfully mineral blancs.
