Eel is tossed with a traditional Japanese barbecue sauce and then sauteed to give it a sweet, caramelized finish. Chef Truong serves this over a bed of steamed sushi rice topped with sesame seeds and minced chives. A few pickled cucumbers are included, as well as a chile-tamari-mirin sauce that gives the whole thing a spicy-sweet finish.

While I appreciate Munchery trying new things, the sauce on this one was very strong and there wasn't enough rice to go with it. Also it could've used an egg element to balance the flavors.

Yum but felt too rich. Could have used some crunch for texture and more pickles to cut down sweetness
