This moist and fluffy gingerbread cake has three hits of ginger— grated raw ginger, minced candied ginger, and freshly ground powdered ginger. It all makes for an intensely spiced and fragrant cake. But we weren't done: Dark chocolate chips are studded throughout (because why not?) and we added a drizzle of espresso icing as a finishing touch.

I had bought two for a tea party a deux. It is so dense that no one can scoff down one on their own. 1/2 is very filling and satisfying. Dipping sauce is fabulous. p.s. The other one went into the freezer.

This dessert was perfect. I expected the gingerbread cake to be overpowering,but it was light in taste , but thick in density. I would highly recommend.
