Sempre Vive Cab (Half Bottle)

half bottle from Calistoga Hills, 2003
3.8 stars
(164 reviews)
With several years of bottle age, the 2003 Sempre Vive exhibits harmonious flavors of ripe blackberry, dried cherry, plum, and currant. The luscious fruit and soft, mature tannins are supported by savory notes of olive, cigar box, and white pepper. This wine will pair wonderfully with hearty red meat preparations or mature cheeses. This was corked / spoiled

Wine was beginning to turn - slightly brown and a little acidic since it was bottled in 2002, but still drinkable
1 Stars
The cork crumbled when I opened it and it was cloudy, brown and sherried in taste.
1 Stars
It was awful... Cork crumbled when opened and tasted old and closer to vinegar.

Was undrinkable, tasted like vinegar

Delivered ice cold. As in completely refrigerator cold. Red wine should not be that cold.

I didn't realize it was a mini bottle

This wine was awful. Also the cork crumbled into tiny pieces all over and into the wine.

Description did a bad job of making it clear that this was a small bottle as the photograph looks like a regular wine bottle. Even worse, the RED wine arrived freezing cold, making it undrinkable. Also the "free" cookie was half eaten upon arrival

Such a small bottle! Would like to have been warned of the size more explicitly. But very tasty wine

Small bottle tasted like bad old wine

This wine was fantastic! Soft tannins, very rich and bold cherry flavor. I ordered another bottle just to have around! As it is a 2003 year, be careful when opening the cork -- I made the mistake of not opening slowly enough and the cork split.
