This is the traditional soda bread of yore - no frills, no fuss, just like the 19th century farmer's wives of Ireland used to make. These crusty rolls are leavened with baking soda and moistened with tangy buttermilk. Many recipes call for the addition of raisins or currants, but those are definitely a modern inclusion - Irish farmer's wives definitely could not afford that back then! As a nod to the more "prosperous" years we've included an apple-caraway jam sweetened with golden raisins to serve alongside. Each order contains 3 rolls.
