  • Vegetarian
Moist chocolate cake is filled with a sweet coconut and pecan frosting, and finished with a swirl of dark chocolate ganache. Bonus trivia to roll out at your next party: the iconic German chocolate cake actually has nothing to do with the country of Germany. The name was derived from a brand of baking chocolate created by Sam German and was used in the first printed recipes of the cake. The possessive for "German's Chocolate Cake" was eventually dropped, and the citizens of Deutschland are left scratching their heads.
