Blackened Creole Catfish

dirty rice, creamed kale, lemon
4.3 stars
(125 reviews)
This dish is a hodgepodge of New Orleans classics. Farm raised catfish is covered in creole seasoning and blackened on a cast iron pan, then served with dirty rice. For those of you that don't know what a New Orleans dirty rice is; it's pork sausage, chicken liver, and the holy trinity (green bell peppers, celery & onions) all cooked together with long grain rice. Steamed lacinato kale mixed with a creamy b├ęchamel sauce and a pinch of nutmeg finishes off this meal. Squeeze the lemon crown over before serving and enjoy one of my favorite meals.

This was my first meal that I ordered and it was delicious! The fish was tender and moist and the dirty rice was very flavorful. The creamed kale reminded me of artichoke dip, which I love. This was a fantastic meal!

Ridiculously good! The catfish was perfectly cooked with great heat. The dirty rice was a treat and the creamed kale put it all together. Portion size was generous. Thank you Chef Wolf!!!!!!

Fantastic! Just the right spice level, portion and the tiny crisp crunch of greens in the dirty rice was awesome!! Honestly, I could eat this 3 times a week!

This dish is insane good, I'd never had dirty rice before and was daunted by chicken liver etc, but wow! The rub on the catfish is unbelievable. This one is going on the favorites list!

Would give more than 5 stars if possible. This is how blackened fish is supposed to be done. Many times people tend to overcook dirty rice and creamed vegetables, but this was executed perfectly here. Only wish I ordered another one.

Surprisingly spicy. Very good

Dang...this was really good! Perfectly balanced flavors & spiciness (& I'm pretty sensitive to heat). Somehow the catfish was not AT ALL overcooked after heating in the oven...it's like magic! PLEASE - keep the Cajun/Creole food coming!!!

I loved this! Dirty rice was fantastic and the catfish had wonderful heat. The kale was awesome. Downside:I've ordered this 2x.. First time BIG portions, 2nd time not so much. Ridiculously small portion of rice.

The rice is very under cooked and it is more like a brown rice.

Super tasty meal The Catfish seasoning was perfect and I loved the dirty rice. The creamed kale needed a little salt, but I still licked my plate!
