BBQ Pork with Rice

BBQ pork is one of the most popular treats in Chinese cuisine. We've teamed up with Dragon Beaux to bring you a particularly tasty version. Pork loin is marinated in a mix of five spice, anise seed, star anise, and ginger. After the pork is roasted, a thin sweet malt glaze is brushed on, which creates the signature shiny caramelized coat. It's served with a side of steamed rice and broccoli florets. We partner with Dragon Beaux—a chic (and popular!) restaurant in San Francisco's Outer Richmond district—to bring you some of the best Chinese food in the Bay Area.

While the pork was tasty, it was somewhat dry. Good size portion.

Sadly, I really did not enjoy this meal, unlike the many others that I have had from Munchery. The BBQ pork was very dry and tough, there was far too much sticky rice and there was insufficient sweetened soy sauce.

Rice was dry and hard. Pork was fatty and has a strange flavor. Gave me a bad stomach ache. Would not recommend this dish.
4 Stars
The pork was delicious! Would've loved more broccoli and less rice.

The pork is very, very salty. It tastes good and surprisingly authentic, but you can reduce the salt.

Delicious but would probably serve a little less riceo

Pork had good flavor, but was chewy. Only had 3 pieces of broccoli. Overall it was just okay. Probably won't order this again.

The meat was too fatty and chewy for my taste.

Huge portion of rice. Pork was tender but extremely fatty. Wish the broccoli was cooked a little bit instead of just being blanched.

This entree came with lots and lots of rice. . . a little too much rice. The pork, although spiced nicely, was tough and riddled with fat.
3 Stars
A dry dish. Pork tasted good. Wouldn't order again.

Pork was pretty tasty (but seemed to be a much fattier cut than necessary for this dish). The rice though, was dry and hard already - this seems to happen often with the rice in Munchery dishes. . .

The pork is delicious - tender, juicy, flavorful - and there's plenty of it. Will definitely order again!
2 Stars
Very mild flavor, not BBQ flavor though. Half of the meat was pure fat. We will not order again.

Mostly rice. Meat was pretty fatty.

Two of my favorite things, pork and rice. Excellent flavor and portion. I wish there was a little bit more sauce included though.
2 Stars
The pork flavor was nice but the meat was fatty and the rice was old and dry.

Superb pork, very juicy & tender BUT needs a bit more bbq glaze. The "soy sauce" not so good. Glad I didn't follow the directions and put it on the rice to reheat. Not sure what the odd flavor is in the soy sauce but it wasn't a good odd flavor.

Probably OK if eat right away. Super dry if heat up later. Good portion is a plus.

This dish was very disappointing. The rice was dry....not nearly enough sauce, and the meat was quite fatty. I thought it very overpriced too.

Ok if you want Chinese lite, but not a substitute for Chinese take-out.

I probably will not order this dish again because the flavor of the pork just wasn't there. Good that there was rice so the saltiness was offset. I think my expectations were too high.
