A cozy, comforting bowl of split pea soup made extra flavorful by cooking the split peas in chicken broth with onions, celery, carrots, bay leaf, and fresh thyme. Oh, and we add smoked bacon, too. Makes a yummy starter to a bigger meal, or add a salad to keep things simple. (Insider tip: We've also been known to order this to have for lunch the next day.)
