Our humble winter beginning

We got our start back in 2010 as a couple of busy new parents desperate for an easier answer to "what’s for dinner?" Because we’ve all been there.

It’s late afternoon, and your schedule is overflowing. Meetings for this, and IMs for that. You’re overcommitted, under caffeinated and inbox zero seems like a cruel joke.

At some point, you’ve gotta figure out what’s for dinner. And when you’re too busy or tired to cook, it’s all too easy to just grab something fast on nights like these. But usually the easy option isn’t the best one for you.

We thought there had to be a better way, and that’s why we started Munchery. To make the easy option for putting dinner on the table the better one for you and the people you care about — even if that table was made for coffee or it’s actually your desk.

Our chefs use the best fresh ingredients in every dish.

We like to know what we’re eating, so we make sure to provide complete ingredient lists and nutritional data for every dish. We take pictures of each one and do our best to describe our food so you’ll have a sense of whether you’ll like it or not.

Our food comes from the same great food vendors used by local restaurants. For example, in San Francisco we use Golden Gate Meats, Veggie Works, and Panorama Bakery. All of our kitchens buy their ingredients from similar vendors.

We select our ingredients carefully. Although we do use some items—like ketchup or hoisin sauce—that contain preservatives or high fructose corn syrup, we are always working to find options that minimize or eliminate them from our food.

Since we love food, we’re always looking for ways to bring the best dining experiences to our customers. We partner with companies who make food we love and want to eat—from Le Petit Pot’s luscious organic pot de crèmes on our San Francisco menu to the organic, GMO-free tofu and soy from Hodo Soy Beanery in our cooking kits.

We think it’s good business to do good.

We’re working hard to be sustainable in all ways, and to help those who need a helping hand.

Order Dinner, Give a Dinner

For every order on Munchery, we provide a meal for someone in need by donating a portion of our proceeds to a local food bank.

Carbon Neutral Delivery

We are offsetting the carbon footprint of every delivery by protecting forests through The Conservation Fund.

Eco-Friendly Everything

From biodegradable trays made of renewable plants to paper and plastic products from recycled materials, we’re greening our footprint in every way.

Not Your Average Delivery Drivers

We don’t hire your typical pizza delivery person (no offense pizza guy!). Our drivers are carefully vetted, fully insured and diligently trained. Usually delivering to a single neighborhood, they’ll be a regular friendly face you can get to know.
